Based on the feedback received so far, most of the affected parents in the rapidly-growing Willoughby area accept the need to shift students from one school to another, the 91原创 Board of Education was told Tuesday.Assistant superintendent Suzanne Hoffman said most parents in the affected area were understanding during discussions with district staff.鈥淭here was no space,鈥� Hoffman said.鈥淲e need a new school.鈥漈rustees voted to approve transferring a southern portion of the R.C. Garnett school catchment area to 91原创 Meadows Elementary School.That means some children will have to make a longer journey across busy 200 Street to attend classes.Only new students will be affected by the change.Students from the affected area who already attend R.C. Garnett won鈥檛 be required to switch to 91原创 Meadows, and neither will their brothers or sisters.School district planners have been assured by the Township that the pedestrian overpass at 200 Street and 68 Avenue in Willoughby will be ready in time for the students when the new school year starts in September. (See story and photo, page 11).A new school to accommodate the booming pupil population in Willoughby will open in 2012. It will be built on 83 Avenue, east of 208 Street.
