George Antone remembered

A large contingent from the Kwantlen First Nation attended Sunday鈥檚 Arbour Day events at the Derek Doubleday Arboretum, to honour Kwantlen elder George Antone. The longtime resident of the Kwantlen lands on McMillan Island was found dead on his home on March 7, the apparent victim of a homicide which remains under investigation. The Township honoured his service to his people and the community with a tree planted in his memory. Several other notable 91原创 residents who passed away in the past year were also honoured with tree plantings.
