The SPCA shelter in Abbotsford is currently carrying for six-week-old kitten Harry, who must have one of his legs amputated.

A tiny kitten abandoned at a construction site in Abbotsford must have one of its legs amputated, and the SPCA is asking for donations to help cover the medical costs.

Harry, six weeks old, was recently discovered with his siblings Ron and Ginny and brought to the Abbotsford SPCA shelter by a Good Samaritan on the job site.

Harry had a broken leg that must be amputated in order for him to grow up pain-free, said branch manager Sarah Ringer.

鈥淗arry is such an adorable kitten who deserves a fair chance at life. Despite his injury, he鈥檚 still so sweet and loving, with a ton of personality,鈥 she said.

The medical costs associated with Harry鈥檚 care are expected to reach nearly $2,000. A non-profit organization, the BC SPCA relies primarily on public donations to help the province鈥檚 most vulnerable animals.

Ringer said Harry will be available for adoption after his surgery and recovery.

鈥淲e just want this lovable little guy to have the chance to live out the rest of his nine lives as a happy, active cat,鈥 she said. 鈥淓ven missing a leg, he鈥檒l make an amazing 鈥榯ri-pawed鈥 furry family member.鈥

Donations can be made online at or in person at 34312 Industrial Way.
