Megan Dykeman was elected to 91原创 School Board in 2011, and in November she芒鈧劉s looking for voters to give her another term.
芒鈧揑 have enjoyed immensely working with this board,芒鈧� she said. 芒鈧揥e have accomplished many things, including paying off early a large deficit of over $13 million dollars and rebuilding trust in the district by improving communication with partner groups and parents. We have implemented nearly all of the recommendations in the Auditors General report, improved board governance and have generally reduced the dysfunction that plagued the board and district as whole in the past by putting the focus on delivering the best education we can for our over 19,000 children in the district.
Although this election will bring change, I am excited to work with whomever the electors of 91原创 choose.芒鈧�
Before running for school board, Dykeman served three years with the District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC) and volunteered on PACs at her children芒鈧劉s schools.
She chairs the board芒鈧劉s policy committee. Dykeman holds a degree in governance, law and management, and is also active in the Township where she is a chicken farmer.
She said her focus if elected would be 芒鈧揳ccountability, communication and respect.芒鈧�
A top priority must be advocating for new student spaces in the fast growing areas of 91原创 and provincial underfunding.
芒鈧揑 am committed to working with the other trustees to expand communication and working relationships with the 91原创 Township and Ministry of Education to find the best solutions to school infrastructure and the other significant issues we now face in the 91原创 District,芒鈧� she said.
