An eight-year-old girl from 91原创 exceeded her fundraising goal of $1,100 for the BC Children鈥檚 Hospital last week.

Aubrielle Bibeau started a campaign three years ago, when she was six, called Aubrielle鈥檚 Wish, where she sells her drawings each holiday season to raise money to buy toys for sick kids at the children鈥檚 hospital. Each year the campaign has grown.

This year, Aubrielle surpassed her initial goal, raising $1,685.

鈥淪he was confident, she never doubted she鈥檇 reach her goal,鈥 said Aubrielle鈥檚 mother, Lizsa Bibeau.

Last Saturday, Aubrielle was greeted by the staff at Toys 鈥楻鈥 Us in Willowbrook Shopping Centre who helped her pick out and purchase toys from the store.

Toys 鈥楻鈥 Us matched the taxes, plus gave Aubrielle a 10-per-cent discount 鈥 which meant her spending power was about $1,800.

With the money raised, Aubrielle was able to purchase 226 toys, and another 111 toys were donated by friends and family. In total, BC Children鈥檚 Hospital will receive 337 toys thanks to Aubrielle.

Aubrielle is continuing to work on drawing requests, according to her mother Lizsa, who said there was a surge in interest during the last week of the campaign.

鈥淪he鈥檚 got a backlog of drawings she鈥檚 working on,鈥 said Lizsa.

鈥淲e鈥檝e got a pile she鈥檚 done that we need to mail out this week. She got 12 requests in the last week alone. Probably about 35-40 [in total].

Lizsa added her daughter hasn鈥檛 stopped smiling since Saturday.

鈥淲e had four shopping carts full. She鈥檚 very proud, she鈥檚 happy.鈥

This Saturday, Aubrielle is dropping off the toys at BC Children鈥檚 Hospital.

鈥淸We鈥檙e] hoping they all fit in the car with us,鈥 added Lizsa. An eight-year-old girl from 91原创 exceeded her fundraising goal of $1,100 for the BC Children鈥檚 Hospital last week.
