A 91原创 man who sexually abused three teenage boys after plying them with alcohol and drugs has been sentenced to four years in prison.

Kelly Glen Isbister, 42, pleaded guilty in October to three counts of sexual interference of a person under 16.

He was sentenced Thursday in provincial court in Surrey.

Each of the three victims was 14 years old at the time of the offences, which occurred over a period of about four years. Isbister befriended the boys and invited them to his home, where he provided them with drugs, alcohol and cash, then coerced them into sexual activity. The boys were subjected to a variety of sexual acts. In two of the cases, Isbister photographed some of the encounters.

In his reasons for sentence, Judge Michael Hicks described Isbister芒鈧劉s treatment of the vulnerable victims as exploitive and destructive.

芒鈧揌e manipulated these victims for his own sexual gratification,芒鈧 Hicks said.

芒鈧揌is conduct was predatory.芒鈧

Isbister has completed 18 programs while in custody, but according to a presentence report he continues to minimize, deny or rationalize his conduct.

The person who prepared the report said Isbister displays attitudes that condone sexual violence and is of the view that what he did to the victims was consensual and not wrong.

芒鈧揗r. Isbister has a significant way to travel in order to gain insight into his offending, the reasons behind it and the effect on his victims,芒鈧 Hicks said.

Until he receives further treatment 芒鈧 to which he is amenable, according to his lawyer 芒鈧 Isbister remains a moderate risk to reoffend.

Hicks said he took into account Isbister芒鈧劉s difficult background and aboriginal heritage when deciding on a sentence, but he said the crimes Isbister committed deserve to be denounced in the strongest terms possible with a significant period of incarceration. Hicks sentenced Isbister to four years in prison, minus one year of credit for time served. Isbister appeared unhappy with the decision, closing his eyes and putting his fist to his forehead.

Isbister was facing numerous other charges, including sexual assault, possession of child pornography, trafficking in a controlled substance and breaching his release conditions. Those charges were stayed by the Crown after sentencing.
