There芒鈧劉s many a little girl who loves dressing up as a princess. And at least 250 local princesses 芒鈧 and even a few pirates 芒鈧 are expected to attend the third annual charity princess tea party happening at Cascades Casino on Saturday.
It芒鈧劉s a, and while the popular event started in Nova Scotia more than a decade ago, it has spread across the country.
This is still the only party of this type in B.C., said Children芒鈧劉s Wish development coordinator Irina Novak. But it is hugely popular, and helped raise about $6,000 for the cause, last year alone. A similar fundraising goal has been set for this year, too, which she said is possible because of the 芒鈧搃ncredible芒鈧 donation of food and space from Cascades and the Coast Hotel and Convention Centre.
There are still a few tickets left, at $25 each from bc.princessteapartycanada.ca or call 778-383-1415.
芒鈧揥ith the purchase of your ticket, you are helping to ensure that the Children芒鈧劉s Wish Foundation can continue to grant the most heartfelt wishes of local kids with life-threatening illnesses,芒鈧 Novak said.
芒鈧揑t芒鈧劉s a very unique event,芒鈧 she added. 芒鈧揑t芒鈧劉s an afternoon of everything princess.芒鈧
Naturally, Novak said, costumes are encouraged, and tea and treats will be served. There will also be princess parlour where the kids can get a royal makeover completed with nails painted, there will be characters circulating, there芒鈧劉s a photo booth, and even a magic show.
Kids no longer have to travel to Disneyland to see their favourite princesses, Novak added. Many are making special appearances at this event.
While there is no age restriction, the event tends to draw princesses between the ages of three and 12 years old. The draw bridge opens at 11 a.m. and closes 2 p.m.
芒鈧揌elp us celebrate the magic of a wish,芒鈧 Novak said, noting the event is open to pirates and princesses, as well princes, kings, and queens.
