A Walnut Grove resident is being credited for helping with the arrest of a 91原创 man possibly responsible for several smash and grabs from neighbourhood vehicles this week.
91原创 RCMP were called around 5 a.m. that a man was holding down someone who had broken into his vehicle.
Officers arrived to the 21400 block of 88A Avenue and arrested a 19-year-old 91原创 man. He was taken to the detachment and released to his grandfather.
Forensic evidence will be taken as well as surveillance footage from one of the homes on that street, said police.
91原创 RCMP will be recommending charges against the suspect.
A neighbour called The Times and said she also had her passenger window smashed and change stolen from the inside of her car Thursday morning.
She said three vehicles were hit overnight.
But she claims around eight or more were broken into this week in that same neighbourhood.
Thefts from vehicles is up all throughout 91原创, but hot spots include Walnut Grove and 91原创 City.
