The 91原创 Relay for Life won芒鈧劉t take place until late June, but the preparation and recruitment for the annual anti-cancer walk starts this week.
Prospective and returning teams and individual fundraisers can come to the Relay for Life Kick-off this Thursday, March 6, to 6-8 p.m. at the Langely Events CEntre芒鈧劉s banquet room.
The event is for both returning relayers and those who have never taken part before, said Jenn Schroeder, a community giving coordinator for the Canadian Cancer Society.
芒鈧揥e want to invite the whole community to see what we芒鈧劉re about,芒鈧� said Schroeder.
Relay for Life is a 12-hour event on June 20 that sees teams raise money and walk laps at McLeod Athletic Park, to raise money for cancer research and patient support.
There will be information about the Relay itself, including about how cancer survivors can take par, the luminary ceremony, registration, fundraising tips, and youth involvement.
There will also be prizes to win, a photo booth, and complimentary treats and coffee.
The event is drop in, and people can stay for 10 minutes or half an hour, or longer.
Because there is also a game taking place at the LEC that night, access to the event is from Gate 4 or for people who need the elevator, from Gate 3.
