Eventually, there鈥檚 bound to come a time when it stops raining.
If and when that day arrives, and residents are ready to start watering their lawns, the City of 91原创 is hoping they will do so sparingly.
鈥淲ater is a precious resource and we鈥檇 like to make sure we treat it properly,鈥 said City engineer Gary Vlieg.
Vlieg set out a few guidelines for responsible watering at Monday鈥檚 City Council meeting, noting that lawns require only about one inch (or two and a half centimetres) of water per week.
To determine how much sprinkler time that entails, he suggests putting out an empty tuna or salmon can to see how long it takes to fill.
