New Westminster Police Department's major crime unit is investigating after a man was found dead in the city's downtown core
Police received a call around 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday (April 29) about the body in the downtown neighbourhood near Auckland and 12th streets, according to a media release Wednesday.
Patrol officers and the forensic identification unit went to the scene to collect evidence. The major crime unit is also working with the B.C. Coroners Service.
鈥淲e鈥檙e working to determine what the circumstances were surrounding this man鈥檚 death,鈥� Sgt. Justine Thom said. 鈥淚t could be several weeks before the circumstances of his death become clear.鈥�
