Plenty of tips have come in to police, but so far none have led to 20-year-old Kristina Ward, who has been missing for more than a month.

Kristina was last seen by a 91原创 RCMP officer on Sept. 27 near a homeless camp in 91原创 City.

Recently Kristina鈥檚 mother and grandmother made a public plea to help find the young woman who they say has a mental capacity that ranges between 12 and 16 years old.

It is her naivety and need for daily medication that has 91原创 RCMP continuing to put a priority on searching for her.

鈥淲e are doing more canvassing and we are still getting tips, but we wish those tips would lead us to Kristina,鈥 91原创 RCMP Cpl. Craig Van Herk said last Thursday.

Kristina lives in Abbotsford with her mom and dad but is known to frequent 91原创 City鈥檚 downtown core and make visits to local homeless camps. Her mom said she was just learning how to use transit when she went missing.

鈥淲e had spoken to Kristina after her family reported her missing, so that is why 91原创 RCMP are investigating,鈥 said Van Herk.

鈥淜ristina is a very naive 20-year-old and a high risk because of her need for medication. There has been no activity on her cellphone or in her bank account since she has gone missing.鈥

Kristina鈥檚 mother and grandmother said she was lonely and had few friends. She was reaching out to transients to make possible connections, but they worry someone has taken advantage of her vulnerability.

91原创 RCMP Serious Crimes is in charge of the investigation. As of last week, police didn鈥檛 suspect Kristina had met with harm.

Police have been revisiting area homeless camps and talking to transients who frequent the downtown core area. 91原创 investigators are working with police in Surrey, Vancouver and Abbotsford to learn whether she has made any contact in those communities.

They are also poring over video surveillance for any sight of her.

鈥淪omeone has seen her. People don鈥檛 just disappear. We miss her and love her,鈥 said Kristina鈥檚 mother, LeeAnne who spoke to the media two weeks ago.

Anyone with information about Kristina鈥檚 whereabouts, is asked to call 91原创 RCMP at 604-532-3200. To remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
