A truck has failed to clear the the railway bridge just east of the new Glover Road overpass on Hwy. 1 through 91原创.That is the second time in a month.
It happened during daylight hours on Friday, Dec. 20, when a cube truck being transported on a flatbed trailer hit the crossing while heading west.
Damage appeared minor, but the crash did cause some traffic disruption.

It followed a Dec. 2 crash at the same overpass, which saw the operator ticketed and their carrier licence suspended by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure for incorrectly measuring vehicle height. After an action plan to prevent future errors was agreed upon, the licence was restored Dec. 18.
According to the online Metro Vancouver Overpass Impact Counter, the latest crash brought the total number of overpass collisions in Metro Vancouver alone to 26 so far this year, more than double the previous year, and yet another new all-time record.
In 2023 Metro Vancouver recorded 12 hits according to the unofficial estimate by the counter at .
An official tally published on the Ministry website reports 28 overpass crashes in all of B.C. in 2024 to date, but it doesn't include some of the less serious crashes recorded by the counter.
With a 4.4-metre clearance, the railway bridge is far below the minimum 5.2 metres modern standards require.
It is slated for replacement.
The neighbouring Glover Road overpass, which was built in the 1960s and stood 4.3 metres, was demolished and replaced with a new overpass that opened in May with better height clearance, and multi-use pathways on either side for cyclists and pedestrians.
The rising number of overpass collisions in Metro Vancouver comes despite a provincial move to increase penalties for such crashes after an Aldergrove-based trucking company, Chohan Freight Forwarders, had its licence to operate in B.C. cancelled, following six overpass collisions.
