Police have taken possession of an urn containing ashes that was dropped off as a donation to the Value Village Store on Wednesday (Feb. 23).The urn had been left by an unknown donor the day before, said 91原创 RCMP spokesman Cpl. Holly Marks.A search of police databases has not been successful in locating a reported theft of the urn, Marks said, adding that it鈥檚 possible the urn was not stolen.However, Marks added, it鈥檚 not a typical donation to the 91原创 City thrift store.鈥淭here is a possibility the urn has been mistakenly donated or is in fact stolen,鈥 Marks said, adding that police would like to return the urn to the family whose loved one鈥檚 ashes are in it.Anyone who can help is asked to call the 91原创 detachment at 604-532-3200.
