The 170 people who work for 91原创 City have voted to accept a new four year contract.
The deal, announced by the union and city on Tuesday, includes retroactive pay hikes of 1.25 per cent for 2012 and 1.75 per cent for 2013, followed by a 1.75 per cent hike this year and a two per cent increase in 2015.
Under the previous collective agreement, city workers鈥 pay ranged between $13 to $43 an hour depending on pay grade and experience.
The new contract also includes improvements in seniority rights for temporary full-time employees and improvements to general leave and union security provisions, the union said.
CUPE 2058 president Andrew Brown called the bargaining process 鈥渞espectful.鈥
The City of 91原创 issued a press release saying the wage increases were 鈥渃onsistent with other settlements in the region.鈥
鈥淭he new collective agreement meets the needs of both the City of 91原创 and our employees,鈥 said acting mayor Ted Schaffer.
