A 91原创 RCMP officer has been criminally charged, relating to alleged incidents dating back almost five years.
Const. Navarash Dhillon faces one count of breach of trust, with the alleged offences taking place in 91原创 between Sept. 10 and Dec. 29 2018.
Dhillon is scheduled to appear in Surrey Provincial Court on June 22.
No other details of the circumstances of the alleged offences were released.
Persons charged with a criminal offence are considered not guilty until the charges are proven in court.
The announcement of the charges, from the B.C. Prosecution Service, did not say which police agency conducted the investigation. Usually investigations of officers are conducted by police from a different agency in a different community.
This is the second 91原创 RCMP officer to face criminal charges in the last week.
On May 26, the B.C. Prosecution Service announced S/Sgt. Damian Volk had been charged with two counts of assault, stemming from 鈥渋nteractions鈥 he had with two different suspects after their arrests. Those incidents both took place in the summer of 2020.
Volk is scheduled to appear in Surrey Provincial Court on June 23.
