Semi-truck catches fire near Lytton

Semi-truck's flipped trailer catches on fire on Highway 1

A semi-truck travelling on Highway 1 near Lytton has caught on fire Friday morning (July 25).

Traffic on Highway 1, near Spencer's Bridge, has come to stop as the truck's flipped trailer continues to burn on the side of the road by Kanaka Bar northbound. Drivers are being asked to take alternative routes.

"We鈥檙e on the road visiting clients and properties, but driving in BC is never dull. Just ahead of us, a semi-truck caught fire鈥攐nly about 20 minutes before our first stop in Spencer鈥檚 Bridge," said Freddy Marks on social media. "We had to turn back and re-plan our route. The most important thing is that we're safe and nobody (we can see) was hurt."

At this time, the cause of the fire, as well as if anyone is injured, is unknown.
