The Steven Spielberg-produced sci-fi TV series Falling Skies, featuring ER star Noah Wyle, was filming at 91原创 Regional Airport last week when the crew had a scare of their own. A small amount of hydrofluoric acid spilled inside a hangar last Thursday night.
鈥淚t was a very small amount that spilled,鈥 said airport manager George Miller. 鈥淚t was a non-event but how the film crew and the hangar owner handled it was very commendable.
鈥淎nyone within breathing range of the spill was immediately sent to hospital to be checked out as a precaution,鈥 said Miller.
If breathed in, hydrofluoric acid can be deadly or cause permanent lung damage.
All the nine people sent to hospital were fine, said Miller.
Falling Skies has been doing night shoots at the airport with lots of special effects, he said.
鈥淚t鈥檚 been fascinating watching the magic,鈥 said Miller. Arctic Air has also been filmed at the airport recently.
In Aldergrove, a remake of the hit movie Psycho is being filmed as a TV series on 8 Avenue. The set includes a replica of the Bates hotel.
