Surrey Fire responds to three-alarm blaze, multiple homes damaged

No injuries reported at house fire in the 12700 block of 113A Avenue

Multiple homes were damaged overnight in a three-alarm fire in Surrey.

Surrey Fire responded to a house fire in the 12700 block of 113A Avenue around 1:35 a.m. Friday (May 16).

Upon fire crews' arrival, a vacant home could be seen fully engulfed in flames and the fire was spreading to two adjacent houses, Surrey Fire deputy fire chief Shelley Morris said. Thirty firefighters and nine apparatus responded to the fire.

"The people that were occupying the two side houses were displaced, but they didn't need any supports as they had somewhere to go at the time, and there was no one injured," Morris said.

Surrey Police continues to hold the scene while investigating the cause.
