A Surrey teen is recovering with a broken leg after he crashed a minibike into a pickup truck in Willoughby on Friday, Nov. 8.
Around 5:30 p.m., it鈥檚 believed the driver of a minibike attempted a left hand turn in front of a southbound pickup truck at the intersection of 208 Street and 84 Avenue.
The 17-year-old was transported via air ambulance to hospital for treatment of his broken leg. The driver and passenger of the pickup truck were uninjured, said police.
Witnesses have told 91原创 RCMP that the minibike operator had been seen with a second minibike weaving in and out of traffic earlier that day.
The operator of the minibike will be charged with failing to yield, operating without insurance and driving contrary to restrictions with no adult supervisor. His friend, a 16-year-old 91原创 boy, was charged with driving contrary to restrictions. as well.
