City of 91原创 residents are invited to stop in for coffee at City Hall this Thursday, June 26 at 2 p.m. for the official unveiling of the new Timms Community Centre design.

鈥淚 encourage residents to come and have a look at the many new innovative, convenient and exciting offerings that will be part of this important new community facility,鈥 said City of 91原创 acting mayor Ted Schaffer.

鈥淚t is a truly integrated facility that combines three primary users 鈥 91原创 City Hall, City of 91原创 Fraser Valley Regional Library and Timms Community Centre 鈥 into a single active and inviting civic centre.鈥

In addition to an opportunity to view the concept renderings and learn about the building鈥檚 many unique design features, visitors will have a chance to interact with the design and construction team, following a short presentation by Schaffer, Kim Hilton, director of Recreation, Culture and Community Services, and architect Stuart Rothnie.

鈥淭his facility will serve as a community and cultural hub where residents can come together to access group activities, health and fitness opportunities, public information and community resources,鈥 added Schaffer.

鈥淏y supporting positive health outcomes through active living, we envision this facility as the civic heart of our community 鈥 a 鈥榞o-to鈥 place to meet, engage, connect, learn, celebrate and be active together.鈥

The new two-storey Timms Centre will tie into the existing City Hall and library building, enabling users and staff to capitalize on the benefits of an interconnected facility.
