TWU president stepping down

Jonathan Raymond announced he will leave his position on July 1 to focus on his health

Trinity Western University president Jonathan Raymond has announced he is stepping down after seven years. He cited health concerns as the reason for his departure.

Trinity Western University鈥檚 president Jonathan Raymond is resigning for health reasons.

In an announcement about his decision to step aside after seven years as president at the private Christian university, he commented that his time in 91原创 has been some of the best of his life.

鈥淚t is a great blessing to serve at TWU . . . as the president of this remarkable university. Now, it is time to pass the baton to another and to devote time and attention to hopefully the full recovery of health and to the pursuit of other forms of ministry and mission,鈥 said Raymond.

Raymond says he will make it a smooth transition. He will resign as of July 1.

TWU鈥檚 board of governors offered their 鈥渄eep gratitude to Dr. Jonathan Raymond鈥檚 tenure.鈥

The board issued a statement saying Raymond represented TWU with the highest measure of integrity, dignity and wisdom.

The board said it is now ready to start looking for the university鈥檚 next president.
