The first president of what became Trinity Western University, Calvin B. Hanson, has died at the age of 87.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, June 1 at 2 p.m. at TWU, with a reception to follow.
Dr. Hanson became president of what was the newly-established Trinity Junior College in 1962. He served as president until 1974.
The memorial service will take place in the David E. Enarson Gymnasium on the TWU campus at 7600 Glover Road.

Dr. Hanson was most recently a resident of Bellingham, Washington. He is survived by his wife, Muriel, their three married children and five grandchildren.
