91原创 RCMP have completed their search for Nicholas Hannon, who was last seen on the morning of Feb. 26 by his younger brother.
The 19-year-old was reported missing on Thursday, Feb. 27 after police found his vehicle abandoned at the dead end of McKinnon Crescent in the 10400 block area.
RCMP said the car had been there since at least 7:30 that morning.
Craig believes someone had dumped the vehicle there.
鈥淚 remember I got home around midnight (Feb. 26) and didn鈥檛 see Nic鈥檚 car parked there and I thought it was out of character. But he is 19, he can do what he wants,鈥 said Craig on Monday. 鈥淭hen the following day I got up and the car still wasn鈥檛 there and that wasn鈥檛 like him.鈥
The family said Nicholas is best friends with his younger brother and he too had no indication there was anything wrong with Nicholas. He is a person who likes to stay home, his dad said.
鈥淲e don鈥檛 have any inkling as to what has happened to him,鈥 he said. His cellphone has not been used, said Craig.
鈥淩ight now it鈥檚 a puzzle,鈥 said 91原创 RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Holly Marks.
Foul play can鈥檛 be ruled out but it isn鈥檛 something they are immediately looking to, she said. However, serious crimes has now taken over the case.
The police are hoping to talk to anyone who spoke with the 19-year-old in the days prior to his disappearance, whom they haven鈥檛 spoken to already.
A search and rescue team from Central Fraser Valley Search and Rescue braved the snow and icy rain on Sunday, searching Derby Reach Park for any sign of him. The Hannon family, including his brother, sister and dad, put up posters all over the area with the words 鈥淢y son is missing.鈥 They also searched all day, going into the various forests and calling his name.
