A Surrey man has been identified as the driver who died after a dump truck hit a small four-door pickup truck near 198 Street and 16 Avenue in 91原创 around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Police said the westbound dump truck hit the smaller vehicle head-on, killing the driver of the pickup truck, sending both off the road and taking out a power line in the process.
BC Hydro was called in to restore service.
The name of the victim was not immediately released.
91原创 RCMP CPl. Holly Marks said investigators believe the driver of the dump truck was responsible for the crash.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing the dump truck weaving in and out of traffic before the crash.
Police are asking for any witnesses to the collision who have not already spoken to investigators to contact the 91原创 RCMP traffic section at 604-532-3200.
