Wire theft has proved even costlier than originally anticipated in 91原创 City.
At Monday night鈥檚 City council meeting, director of engineering, parks and environment Gary Vlieg relayed up-to-date dollar amounts related to wire theft in 2011.
Vlieg announced that the final tally for 2011 came in at $182,000, well over the budgeted amount of $10,000. The added cost is the equivalent of a one per cent tax increase, Vlieg told council.
