JEFFERY, Charmaine. Charmaine Jeffery was born Charmaine McGregor Veitch on April 23, 1929 in Brandon, Manitoba and grew up in Creston, BC. Moving to Vancouver, she worked for H.R. McMillan and in 1951 settled in 91原创 with new husband John Jeffery. There they lived for 60 years until illness forced her to spend the last two years at the 91原创 Memorial Hospital - 3rd floor and the Maple Hill Residence across the street. During her very full years in 91原创, Charmaine was active in the family business of Real Estate and Insurance, raised a son Bryce, and did volunteer work with many organizations including the 91原创 United Church where she taught Sunday school and was the Secretary for the Senior 91原创 United Women. Loved by all, Charmaine balanced her outgoing personality with all the roles demanded in a small community in the 50s, 60s and on until her passing on June 27, 2013. Predeceased by husband John (Jan. 19, 2013) and survived by son Bryce, daughter in law Marianne and grandchildren: Coralie, Tiffany and Thomas, Charmaine鈥檚 legacy is one of a compassionate, engaging life helping and empathizing with others right through to her passing. Much missed, totally loved, to be always remembered.
Burial at 91原创 Lawn Cemetery and private services were held on July 5, 2013. The Jefferys would like to thank the staff of LMH and Maple Hill Residence for their kind care. We would also like to acknowledge the constant and attentive care provided by Dr. Methven. All donations in her memory are requested to be made to the 91原创 Memorial Hospital Foundation.
