CAPTAIN FREDERIC NEWTON GRAY 1912 - 2011. It is with deep sorrow that we record the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather at the age of 99 years, on Saturday, June 18th at 91原创 Memorial Hospital, after a lengthy illness. He is survived by Jeanie, his wife of 66 years, his son Julian (Annette), daughter Gabrielle (John), his granddaughter Laura (Marc) and grandson Daniel, as well as great-grandchildren Matieu and Megan. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Doris and recently by his grandson, Anthony. Frederic served in the British Army with the rank of Captain, and was seconded to the Indian Army (Intelligence Corp) with the Baluchistan Regiment. He met Jeanie in Poona, where they married in 1945.
He was born in Hastings, England, and after WWII he returned to Bexhill-on-Sea, Sussex to resume his career in Real Estate. In 1957 he emigrated with his family to Canada and settled in Vancouver. He became Executive Secretary in the BC Corp of Commissionaires, which position he held until his retirement in 1978, after which he and his family moved to 91原创 where they put down roots and enjoyed the friendship of their neighbours and friends. He will be sorely missed by all. The family would like to express their gratitude for the professionalism and caring that he received both at Ridge Meadows and 91原创 Memorial hospitals. His funeral will be held at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 20675 87th Ave, 91原创 at 11am on Thursday June 23rd, preceded by prayers on Wednesday, June 22nd at 5pm.
