In Loving Memory

Henk grew up on a farm in Wapenveld, the Netherlands, before serving with the Dutch Marines from 1971-1972 on Aruba, and then immigrating to Canada and settling in 91原创 in 1973. He spent his working years in the building industry, most of it as a site superintendent on larger building projects.

Henk's legacy is love. He poured his heart into countless lives. This flowed from the love he knew from his LORD Jesus Christ, with whom he walked each day.

He married the love of his life, Ginny and journeyed faithfully alongside her for over 48 years. His love flowed equally to each of their six children and spouses that God blessed them with: Shelley and Paul, Burke and MaryAnne, Jaclyn and Mark, Rick and Hannah, Tom and Su, Stuart and Joni, their 30 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was their #1 fan, both on the field/court/rink, and in their daily lives.

He also loved Christ's church, serving as an elder till his final day. Together Henk and Ginny opened their home to countless guests. Henk loved God's creation as evidenced by the trees and flowers that flourished on their property.

God graciously allowed him to enjoy one last day walking along the ocean, smiling and joking with family, before suddenly and unexpectedly taking him home, when Henk's heart stopped beating. We look forward to the day we can enjoy God's love together with him in heaven. "For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations." Psalm 100: 5
