MacMAHON, James Ross
November 2nd, 1939 - January 4th, 2017
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, James Ross MacMahon (Jimmy Mac the Retired Guy). He touched so many people's lives and will always be remembered for his kindness and sense of humour.
Born November 2, 1939 at St Paul's Hospital, Vancouver, BC and passed away peacefully on January 4th 2017 at 91原创 Hospice. He is Survived by his loving sister Twiligha Cutforth (nee MacMahon) and his children: Tracey (Jacques), Jim (Christina), Twiligha (Doug) and step children Dwight, Sherry, Debbie, Rick and Lori (Denny). His nine grandchildren were the joy of his life: Ashley (Justin), Samantha, David, Pieteke, Ian (Deja), Jonathan, Anneke, Brayanna, Charlie, two great grandsons Liam and Kellan, and his niece Jacqueline (Don), nephews Joey, and James (predeceased).
Jimmy Mac comes from a family of Scottish Travellers, and always had the heart of a Traveller. When Jim was young he would travel with his family as they worked across Canada; When Jim was in his late teens he started working for Cullen Detroit Diesel and worked there for over 30 years; eventually working his way up to Vice President. After retiring he started his own business called "Jimmy Mac the Retired Guy" in 91原创, where he was a respected member of the community and well loved by his customers.
Jimmy touched many people's lives and will be dearly missed by his very good friend and loving companion Delia Auzins, as well as his many good friends.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to his neighbors at Cedar Creek Estates especially Paul, Carl, and Ellie. We would also like to thank the wonderful staff and volunteers at 91原创 Hospice and Newton home care for all the support we were given during Jimmy's illness.
A Celebration of life will be held at 1pm on January 13, 2017 at Hendersons Funeral Home, 20786 Fraser Hwy, 91原创. Interment will be held on January 14 at 2pm at Oceanview Cemetery, 4000 Imperial Street Burnaby.
