DeREUS, Josh
Aged 65 years, passed away peacefully at home on October 19, 2016. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Maureen, his daughters Ann and Katie (Michael Gran), his grandchildren Elijah and the New Kid due May 2017, his mother Alice, his sisters Mary (Don Brean), Joanne, and Debbie (Peter Turtlebury), his nieces Stephanie, Danielle (Chad Browning), and Kelsey, his nephews Scott, Wesley, Dexter, Travis & Nash, as well as many relatives, including his loving mother-in-law Madeline Hepburn, and his many brothers and sisters-in-law (Lea Murray, Michelle and Mike Dupas, Elana and Alan Dennis, and Darren Murray). He will be sadly missed by his friends, in particular, his life long best friends Martin Sved and Chris Cornett. He is predeceased by his proud father Simon DeReus.
Josh enjoyed a successful career in sales across industries. He was a gentleman with boundless optimism and enthusiasm. His laugh and twisted sense of humour will be greatly missed. He traveled widely and pursued activities in the outdoors, in particular skiing, boating, tennis, and soccer. But what he took the most pride in was his family and home in Brookswood, parenting his daughters with his wife & best friend Maureen, and spoiling the dickens out of his grandson Elijah.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Rowing Club in Harvard Gardens on November 5, 2016 from 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm. Open to any family and friends who want to attend, please bring a memory to share about Josh and find parking behind the venue on 33rd or at the Keg across the street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The BC Lung Association in honour of Josh & Maureen DeReus.
