McDONALD, Robert Brian
Robert Brian McDonald unexpectedly passed away in his sleep Thursday morning, February 23, 2017, at his home in 91原创. He was 70 years old, born November 1, 1946, in New Westminster, B.C. He is the son of Bob and Mollie McDonald. He is survived by his four siblings: David McDonald of Vancouver, Lynn McDonald of Toronto, Steve McDonald of Surrey, and Bruce McDonald of Coquitlam. He was a lifetime bachelor and "Uncle Rob" to seven nieces and nephews. Rob completed his undergraduate and law degree at University of British Columbia, graduating in 1972. He had a successful career practicing law in Vancouver, and later in the Fraser Valley. He then gave up his law practice to fulfill his greatest passion, his love for horses. He became fully engaged in the breeding and raising of thoroughbreds. His dedication to his horses was legendary, as he worked long hours for the last 25 years on his 18 acre farm in 91原创. Rob was a man of great integrity, superb intellect, and sharp wit. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. The horse industry in B.C. has lost a true patron and friend. A Celebration of Rob's life will take place at a later date. "When you are on a great horse, you have the best seat you will ever have." ~ Sir Winston Churchill
