Born in Carmen Manitoba November 17, 1938 – passed in 91Ô­´´, BC March 16, 2015. Ron sadly passed suddenly from complications after colon cancer surgery at 91Ô­´´ Memorial Hospital surrounded by his wife and children. He was given last rites by Father James Kairu of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church. He has gone to join his parents Alice and Alexander McIvor, brothers Joe, George, Roger, and Alexander, sisters Ada and Eileen, in-laws Bernard and Anita Elshaw and recently sister- n-law Evelyn Bardenhagen. Survived by devoted and loving wife of 42 years Heather Gail, daughters Cynthia (Bill) of Toronto and Kimberley (Alan, granddaughters Emma and Sophie) of 91Ô­´´, sons Keith (grandson Darion) and Geordie of 91Ô­´´. Also leaves to mourn his sister Yvonne (Dick) and his brother Lyle (Sharon), and niece Michele (Bob) and nephew Terry and many nieces, nephews and extended family in BC, Alberta, Manitoba, Minnesota and New York. Ron was a great, hard working, self-sacrifi cing truck driver for 60 years in Manitoba and Lower Mainland BC, and still proudly held his Class 1 license. He retired in 2003 from Trimac Transportation after 28 years. He also enjoyed vacationing in Mexico and was a great hockey fan. A private family memorial led by a Catholic priest will be held as per his wishes. In lieu of fl owers, please donate to the Canadian Cancer Society in his name.
