BAKKEN, Ruth. October 2, 1924 - August 22, 2012. It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Ruth Bakken (nee Letourneau) on August 22, 2012. Ruth was born on October 2, 1924 in St. Hippolyte, Saskatchewan. Ruth was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Minnie Letourneau, first husband Paul Belland, her son Richard Belland, her second husband Alfred Bakken, brother Charles Letourneau, three sisters Lucille Carrier, Bertha Martel and Nora Carrier. Ruth is survived by her brothers Frank (Shirley) Letourneau, Dave (Liz) Letourneau and Leonard (Micky) Letourneau, her daughters Paulette (Wayne) Card and Judy MacAstocker and her son Mark Bakken. Ruth is also survived by eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and eight great, great, grandchildren. Her parents came to BC in 1946 where her family settled down in New Westminster. Ruth raised three children with her husband Paul until his tragic and sudden passing in 1953. In 1955 Ruth married Alf Bakken and they had one son. They resided on the farm in South 91原创 until each child left the farm to make their way in the world. Ruth will be remembered as a supporting wife, loving mother, adoring grandmother, and caring great grandmother and great, great grandmother. A Celebration of Life will take place at Henderson's 91原创 Funeral Home on Saturday September 15th, at 1:00pm. A special thanks to the BC Ambulance Service and the Doctors, Nurses and staff of 91原创 Memorial Hospital. She will be greatly
