KENT, William Leslie

October 19, 1907 - October 11, 2014

Born in the small farming town of Content, Alberta and graduated from U of A in 1931 with a civil engineering degree. Bill met his wife of 70 years in Edmonton, moved to Vancouver, and then with Doris retired to 91原创 30 years ago to be close to family. One of Bill's proudest accomplishments was being an engineer on the Lions Gate Bridge. His work and volunteer career of building bridges, dams, tunnels, and plants spanned several continents and 5 decades. Family and friends have been entertained by Bills stories of his life experiences throughout his nearly 107 years, childhood memories, Old Scona high school in Edmonton, his almamatter U of A, and extensive travel in his retirement years. Bill was a regular visitor and supporter of 91原创s "you've gotta have friends" organization. Bill was predeceased by his loving wife Doris, and survived by his 3 children Carol, Bill, Jane (& Stan); 7 grandchildren Kent, Dayle, Kerin, Stephanie, Jordan, Briony & Zachary, 13 great grandchildren, and wonderful caregivers Mandee and Evelyn. A private family service will be held in his honour.
