There have been several articles in recent issues (Jan. 15, Feb. 12) describing pressure by the City of Surrey to open 24 Avenue to Campbell Heights Industrial Park.

We moved to the area in 2019, and enjoy it here, with the understanding that the local neighbourhood plan called for development, including road improvements. We look forward to a walkable community.

This being said, our little roads (24 Avenue and 196 Street) are definitely not ready for the traffic an opening would bring at this time.

There is already access to the site from 91原创 on 36, 32, 28, and 16 Avenues (32 and 16 are truck routes) with a daily dedicated TransLink route 531, from Willowbrook to White Rock through the site.

The City of Surrey has the benefit of the tax revenue for the entire site so perhaps, just maybe, they could service the area with adequate access on their side.The nearest double lane road is Pacific Highway on 32 Avenue, one mile away, so to want to push a four-lane road into 91原创 is kind of a moot point.

A 91原创 Advance Times article Feb. 12 states 91原创 Township borrowing $14 million to repair roads that are closed now, or will be, in our own Township. Why push ahead a new project that is not our priority for the benefit of another party's interests.
