Dear Editor,
I work in the area of 202 Street and 66 Avenue. In the past few weeks the amount of pigeons has increased in the parking lots by Walmart, London Drugs and Save On Foods.
Someone or someones are spreading crumbs and seeds in the parking lots, and the birds are congregating in large numbers.
Besides the increase of bird turd covering the cars everyday, the birds are getting more and more aggressive. The other day while walking into my work, I reached into my purse to put my keys away, and I guess the pigeons thought I was getting food. In seconds I was swarmed by 20 to 30 birds reminiscent of a scene from Hitchcock鈥檚 鈥淭he Birds鈥 flying around me and freaking me out. I ran into the store, afraid they were going to harm me.
Please, please if you want to feed the birds, pick a park or a green area but stay away from the parking lots that have a risk of people being harmed.
