Dear Editor,
Open letter to Township council and staff.
On Saturday, May 24 we had a yard sale 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., not very successful with a grand total of $36.
But that was the least of our concerns, as there was an accident in front of our driveway with a motorcyclist who was turning left to go on to 250 Street [at 56 Avenue]. But he was going too fast and the two cars in front of him had stopped, he slammed on his brakes as to not hit the car in front of him. His motorcycle slide out from under him, and he hit pavement.
At this time, I screamed "oh my god, are you ok"? He said he was in a shaking voice, with one shoe off and his hand bleeding.
The other two car drivers drove off. Our neighbour Joe came to his aid and took him to his home across the street.
What a day. All I could think about is something has to be done to slow down this traffic on 56 Avenue.
This man was lucky to be alive. Please address our road concerns on 56th and 250th.
