Letter: Youth hub opening a great success

Editor: The 91Ô´´ Youth Hub located at 20561 Logan Avenue (inside Whytecliffe learning centre) has been well attended by youth since opening its doors last month.

It is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Youth aged 12-24 can come to the hub to access housing and employment support as well as medical care, mental health support, arts and recreation programs — along with a free dinner.

The youth hub receives no federal or provincial funding.

It is made possible through the support of a variety of community partners which include; Focus Foundation, Encompass Support Services, 91Ô´´ Division of Family Practice, 91Ô´´ Community Services, Aboriginal Child and youth Mental Health, Ministry for Children and Family Development, The Force Society, 91Ô´´ School District, Youth Unlimited, Stepping Stones Community Services, Fraser Health Authority, 91Ô´´ RCMP and the City and Township of 91Ô´´.
