Editor: Someone once said that war is too important to be left to the generals. I feel the same way about the naming of new schools, parks, bridges etc. It鈥檚 too important to be left to the politicians and school boards.
If I was the king of 91原创,it would be the which would be responsible for compiling a list of about four appropriate names for new schools.
That list would be given to the school board, which would have to select a name from it for a new school. Developers would also have to go through the Heritage Society for names, so there wouldn鈥檛 be any more examples, such as the 鈥淢ilner Heights鈥 development in Willoughby.
Also, when new areas of the Township are opened up for the developer鈥檚 clearcuts, appropriate names would be chosen by the Heritage Society.
The latest area of Willoughby which is in the developer鈥檚 sights is being called 鈥淟atimer鈥 for some reason. Mr.Latimer was a Surrey pioneer and was not from 91原创.
He already has a school, a road, a lake and a creek named for him.
I鈥檓 pretty sure a more Willoughby or 91原创-centred name could have been found instead.
