Brookswood's Syd Williams drives to the hoop against the defence of Walnut Grove's Dallas Tilley during Fraser Valley AAA senior girls league play last month. Both Brookswood and Walnut Grove are part of the field for the 16-team Fraser Valley championships this week.

The Brookswood Bobcats are the top seed for the 16-team Fraser Valley AAA senior girls basketball championships.

The Bobcats, who are also ranked second in the province, face the 16th-seed North Surrey Spartans tonight (Monday) at 6 p.m. at Brookswood Secondary.

Depending on the outcome of that game, they will face either the No. 8 Yale Lions or No. 9 Terry Fox Ravens on Feb. 19, also at Brookswood.

Another local squad, the Walnut Grove Gators, are seeded 11th for the Fraser Valleys.

The Gators draw the No. 6 MEI Eagles in their opening game and then face either No. 3 Maple Ridge or No. 14 Chilliwack. Those games are at Maple Ridge.

The teams needs at least one victory in either of their first two games to go through to the Fraser Valley championship round.

The championship round will be played at Fleetwood Park on Feb. 21 and the 91原创 Events Centre on Feb. 22 and 23.
