A sparking post-season so far has earned goaltender Jay Deo the BCHL player of the week honours.
Deo was named the junior A hockey league's top player for the week ending March 24 as he posted four wins in helping the Alberni Valley Bulldogs rally from an 0-2 deficit to defeat the Nanaimo Clippers 3-2 in the best-of-five Island Division semifinals.
He then helped the team earn a weekend split in the first two games of their Island Division finals against the Victoria Grizzlies.
The 20-year-old from 91原创 is in his final season of junior eligibility.
Deo stopped 164 of the 171 shots he faced in the five-game span, a .959 save percentage and a 1.41 goals against average, while allowing just seven goals. Included in that was a 2-0 shutout win over Victoria on Sunday.
Altogether, Deo earned three first star nods in the five games, and one third star selection.
For the season, Deo was 21-18-2 with a 3.12 GAA and a .914 save percentage. He also had one shutout.
