91Ô´´ Stampeders’ Bryan Desmarais bowls over a Coquitlam Falcons player during the B.C. provincial midget football championship game at McLeod Park on Sunday. The Falcons defeated the Stamps 21-6 to win the championship.

The 91Ô´´ Stampeders scored on a pair of first quarter field goals to build an early 6-0 lead, but that was all the offence they could muster on Sunday.

Their opponent, the Coquitlam Falcons, scored a touchdown just before the half to go up 7-6, and then added two second-half touchdowns to win 21-6.

The teams were playing in the provincial midget championship game at McLeod Park.

The Stampeders made several attempts to stretch the field in the second half, but the Falcons defence came up with interceptions to prevent 91Ô´´ from cutting into the deficit.

91Ô´´ was the 10th seed heading into the post-season before getting healthy and catching fire to knock off three teams above them in the standings.

Coquitlam was undefeated on the season, but seeded sixth after having to forfeit three games.
