The Trinity Western Spartans hockey team dropped a pair of road games in Victoria to close their B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League season.
The Spartans fell 4-2 on March 1 and 7-2 on March 2. Both games were played at the Ian Stewart Complex in Victoria.
Trinity Western finished the season with a record of 6-16-0-2 and outside the playoffs. To qualify for the post-season, the Spartans needed to win both games as they were chasing Victoria for the final spot.
"The boys left it all on the ice," said coach Dwayne Lowdermilk, following Friday's defeat.
"They worked hard (and) gave it all right to the end."
Cody Stephenson and Jamie Russell had the Spartans goals in the first game, while Sam Gemmell and Jamey Kreller scored in the second contest.
