It was a quick visit back to the Lower Mainland but a pair of 91原创 women left with a gold medal for their efforts.
91原创鈥檚 Lisa Roman and Kristen Bauder partnered up to win gold at the 2017 Rowing Canada Aviron national rowing championships.
The competition was held Nov. 9 to 12 by Rowing BC at Burnaby Lakes and featured more than 200 athletes from across Canada hitting the water.
Roman and Bauder were competing in the women鈥檚 pair race, defeating Ontario鈥檚 Christine Roper and Nicole Hare for the gold. The B.C. duo of Olivia King and Morgan Cathrea won bronze.
Both women are 28 years old and left 91原创 five years ago and are now based out of London, Ont. with the Canadian national team program.
Roman represented Canada at the 2016 Olympics in Rio, helping the team place fifth in the women鈥檚 eights.
