Members of the 91Ô´´ Figure Skating Club and coach Eden Donatelli-Breen received a cheque for $1,000 from Intact Insurance B.C. regional business development manager Ted Stenmark. Intact Insurance, who sponsor the Canadian national speed skating team, give $1,000 to a local association for every medal won by the national team on the World Cup circuit.

A silver-medal performance on the world stage has paid dividends to a 91Ô´´ sporting group.

The 91Ô´´ Blades Speed Skating Club was the recipient of $1,000 from Intact Insurance thanks to Jessica Gregg winning silver at a World Cup event in Montreal.

For every medal a member of the Canadian national team wins on the World Cup circuit, Intact Insurance — a sponsor of the team — donates $1,000 to a local speed skating club.

The Blades, who are always open to new and experienced skaters of all ages, are hosting the Fraser Valley Funale at the Walnut Grove Sportsplex on March 8 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
