A 91原创 golfer will hit the links for the UBC Thunderbirds golf team in the fall.
Winnie Hyun, who graduates from Walnut Grove Secondary later this month, was announced as one of the four recruits who will join the T-Birds women's golf team.
She joins Mackenzie Barron (Vernon), Haley Kruse (Victoria) and Kat Kennedy (Okotoks, Alta.)
UBC is coming off a runner-up finish at the 2013 NAIA national tournament.
"(We) are excited with this recruiting class and the potential for these four women to have a positive impact on our program," said UBC coach Chris MacDonald.
"They are all competitive young golfers who are already accomplished academically and in golf provincially and at the national level."
"These women are dedicated to the game, work hard, are team first players and are really excited to be coming to UBC; exactly the type of players we love to have on our team."
Hyun was 38th at the Royale Cup Canadian junior girls championship last summer in Calgary. The previous year, she finished 69th in the same event.
And last weekend (June 1-2), the 18-year-old tied for top spot in her division but lost in a playoff at a at Pitt Meadows' Swan-e-Set Resort.
