The 91Ô´´ Junior Blaze scored four times in the bottom of the sixth inning to rally for a 9-8 victory over the Abbotsford Junior Cardinals.
The U16 baseball teams were playing at McLeod Park on May 15 and the win — 91Ô´´'s third straight — and improved the team to 11-1, good for top spot in the B.C. Junior Premier Baseball League standings.
After jumping out to a 3-0 lead after two innings, the Blaze fell behind after Abbotsford scored six times in the third and once more in the fourth.
91Ô´´ did get two runs back in their half of the fourth but the Cardinals put up one more run in the sixth to lead 8-5.
But in the bottom half of the inning, 91Ô´´ loaded the bases with zero outs and then struck for four runs.
Tony Pharand, Dayton Wilson, Nick Laflamme and Devon Bird all drove in runs in the inning.
Brendan Holstrom and Ryan Lipscombe also had RBIs in the game.
Nick Evans, who pitched the final four innings, earned the win, allowing two earned runs.
The Blaze host the North Shore Junior Twins at McLeod Park on May 17 at 7 p.m.
