The newest member of the 91Ô´´ Junior Thunder is set to make his debut.
Goaltender Tyler Glebe, who was acquired from the Orangeville Northmen of the Ontario Junior A Lacrosse League, is set to play for the Thunder when they host the New Westminster Junior Salmonbellies on June 13 at the 91Ô´´ Events Centre.
The 21-year-old Glebe, a 2012 draft pick of the Toronto Rock, spent last season on the National Lacrosse League squad's practice roster.
He played four games for the Northmen this season before coming west to 91Ô´´, going 2-1 with an 8.37 goals against average and a .783 save perecentage. For his junior career — he has played 32 games, primarily with London — his numbers are a 7.23 GAA and a .706 save percentage.
"Tyler will give us some depth in the goaltending position which is essential if we want to be a national contender this year," said Thunder general manager Brock Rose.
Glebe joins Spencer England to form the Thunder's goaltending tandem.
This was one of two recent moves by 91Ô´´ as earlier this month, they shipped off Jake Taylor to Coquitlam for a second round pick in the 2015 draft and future considerations.
Taylor, a 91Ô´´ resident, has four years (including this season) of junior eligibility remaining. He has one assist in two games this season.
