After a two-year hiatus, soccer will once again be a staple of the Labour Day long weekend in 91原创 as the inaugural 91原创 FC Labour Day tournament kicks off.
The tournament will run Saturday to Monday (Aug. 30 to Sept. 1) at Willoughby Community Park and features boys and girls teams in the U11 to U16 levels.
The action runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. all three days.
Weeks before the 2012 91原创 Labour Day Michael J. Smith Soccer Tournament was set to run, organizers were forced to cancel the annual event because of low registration numbers.
It had run for 13 consecutive years and featured 61 boys and girls teams in 2011. At its peak, the tournament drew around 240 teams.
